Remfry’s IP SEMINAR

On January 30, 2025, legal experts, experienced practitioners and esteemed members of the Indian IP Office gathered for a day of deep dives into the evolving world of IP.

We explored a wide array of topics. Panelists Chandni Agarwal (Head of International Patent Strategy & Technical Advisory) Google, Nitin Sharma, Sr. Director Technology and Patent Counsel, Qualcomm, and Dr. Yogesh Pai, Associate Professor Of Law, National Law University, Delhi discussed the intricate challenges of AI in IP, including inventorship and the nuances of AI-generated works. Another presentation looked at the latest developments in Indian design law and changes anticipated on account of the multilateral Design Law Treaty.

Our sessions on evolving jurisprudence in trademark and patent law, and strategies to combat counterfeiting, provided valuable insights.

Another highlight was the engaging fireside chat on patenting lifesciences inventions with Dipak Mundra, VP (IP), Sumitomo Chemicals India Ltd., where the interplay between innovation and regulatory frameworks was brought to life.

We also had the privilege of experiencing a unique session on Vedanta Philosophy by Shri Gaurav Gurgute, which offered practical tips for achieving a stress-free and balanced work-life, drawing on timeless Vedic wisdom.

A big thank you to all our speakers, panelists, and attendees for making this seminar a success – special mention for Remfry & Sagar Partners Samta Mehra, C.A. Brijesh, Pankaj Soni, RANJNA MEHTA-DUTT, Mohini V, Debashish Banerjee and Gaurav Mukerjee for conducting these sessions.

Insights shared and the participants’ enthusiasm enriched the conversation around IP in today’s dynamic landscape. Looking forward to continuing these meaningful discussions and driving innovation together!
