Associated with Remfry & Sagar since 2002, Bisman is a trademark attorney with extensive experience in advising clients on the adoption and protection of brand names. Her strong knowledge of the nuances of assignment and licensing of rights makes her well versed with issues related to brand strategy development and expansion.

She also leads media outreach, communications and publishing activities at the Firm. As Editor of the Firm’s newsletter – Letter From India – Bisman ensures clients and associates are kept updated on the latest IP news from India as well as happenings at the Firm’s office. The Firm participates in various events and conferences through the year, including organising its own ‘Remfry’s IP Seminar’ and the BRICS IP Forum, for which she is the point of contact.

Bisman is also a part of Remfry & Sagar’s Fashion and Luxury Law team. With an eye for design, she relishes marrying her interest with her expertise in IP law.

The varied aspects of her practice lend her a deep insight into legal and policy developments across the entire IP spectrum and, over the years, she has authored numerous articles on varied IP subjects.  She is also a frequent speaker at domestic and international forums, attending several IP events and conferences through the year, both in India and overseas.

Currently, Bisman is a member of the International Trademark Association’s (INTA) Social Media sub-committee (part of the Emerging Issues Committee). She has previously served as a member of the INTA’s Bulletins Committee and assisted INTA as a member of its Special Project Team tasked with preparing a white paper on ‘IP Protection In Outer Space’.

She is also a member of the Intellectual Property Owners Association’s (IPO) Asian Practice Group and its International Trademarks Committee.
